The 3dMD imaging system uses multiple cameras and projectors to create mesh surfaces and texture maps. We'll use this setup to acquire 3D facial images, and we plan to integrate those images with mesh surfaces extracted from i-CAT scans. We'll post more information, including pictures of the installation and sample acquisitions, on this page as things progress.
We are sincerely grateful for the support of Dr. W. Ronald Redmond. His generosity has not only made this 3dMD purchase possible - he has also donated the school's i-CAT cone beam imaging system. Thank you, Dr. Redmond!

Participating in a high-level confab: (left to right) Chris Lane (3dMD CEO), the demure Dr. Vania Ng, and Dr. Thomas Schiff (Director of Radiology) discuss the statistical implications of surface meshes and texture maps.

All of the parts have been unpacked, and Chris has performed the herculean task of pulling cable through the bar.

And, in what seemed like mere moments' time... the system is set up.

More to come...
Stay tuned - there's lots more to come. We'll soon post renderings of our first acquisitions!
