Dr. Bianchi is an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Pacific. His research is centered on data science approaches and artificial intelligence to creating decision support systems in dentistry, especially in TMJ osteoarthritis and orthognathic surgery areas. Currently, Dr. Bianchi works at the CRIL lab with orthodontic residents from the University of the Pacific and maintain collaboration with the University of Michigan (USA), State of Sao Paulo University (Brazil), Kitware Inc. (USA), University of North Caroline (USA) in research activities involving non identified CBCT images and patient data using open-source software, such as the 3D-Slicer and ITK-SNAP. Those data are also used to train machine learning algorithms to perform imaging tasks such as bone and teeth segmentation, mandibular condyle analysis, treatment decision support in orthognathic surgery, etc. We welcome collaborators, and our main goal is to have multidisciplinary research with programmers, computational scientists, and mathematicians, to be able to integrate the different data/features providing personalized treatment to patients.
